Aston Villa have rejected a second transfer approach from Manchester United within 24 hours, making it clear they have no intention of weakening their squad ahead of the new season.

After being knocked back in their pursuit of Ollie Watkins, United returned with an offer to sign Emiliano Martínez on loan — a proposal that was swiftly turned down by the Birmingham club.

Villa reportedly informed the Red Devils that Martínez, their World Cup-winning goalkeeper, would only be allowed to leave under one condition: a permanent deal worth at least £40 million.

This firm stance comes shortly after Villa dismissed United’s interest in Watkins, reiterating that the prolific forward is not for sale at any price this summer.
