The 21-year-old Spanish-Colombian defender joins the Gunners in a deal worth €15 million

It’s now official — after over a week of speculation, Arsenal have confirmed the signing of highly rated centre-back Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia CF.

The 21-year-old Spanish-Colombian defender joins the Gunners in a deal worth €15 million. He has signed a five-year contract with an option to extend for a further season.

Mosquera rose through the ranks of Valencia’s academy after joining at age 12. He made his senior debut in January 2022 at just 17, appearing in the Copa del Rey, followed days later by his first La Liga appearance — a 1-1 draw against Sevilla at the Mestalla.

Heading into the 2023/24 campaign, Mosquera was promoted permanently to the first team and quickly cemented his place. He started 37 of 38 La Liga matches last season and played every single minute — a remarkable feat for a player his age.
