Inter Milan are reportedly preparing an improved bid for Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman, as the Nerazzurri step up their pursuit of the Nigerian international.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Inter are willing to raise their initial offer by €5 million—bringing it to €45 million—after Atalanta set a starting price of €40 million earlier this week.

While that figure still falls short of La Dea's €50 million valuation, negotiations are believed to be progressing, with both clubs inching closer to an agreement. Despite Atalanta’s firm stance, optimism remains that a deal could be reached soon.

Inter are expected to present the improved offer early next week. Notably, the Milan giants are pushing for a permanent transfer, rather than a loan with an obligation to buy—contrary to earlier reports in the Italian media.

Lookman, who played a pivotal role for Atalanta last season, is reportedly keen on making the switch to San Siro.
