The 25-year-old is expected to sign a lucrative long-term contract

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have reached an agreement with Al Hilal over the transfer of Uruguayan striker Darwin Núñez. The deal is expected to be worth a base fee of €53 million, with additional performance-based bonuses included in the package.

Núñez is now in the final stages of negotiating personal terms with the Saudi Pro League giants. The 25-year-old is expected to sign a lucrative long-term contract that would see him become one of the marquee names in Saudi football.

This sale, combined with the recent departure of Luis Díaz, is set to bring in around €130 million for Liverpool. That cash injection could pave the way for a major summer move — with Alexander Isak of Newcastle United now emerging as a top transfer target for the Premier League champions.

Núñez joined Liverpool in 2022 for a then-club-record fee from Benfica but struggled to fully establish himself as a consistent starter. A move to the Middle East may offer the striker a fresh start and a new chapter in his career.
