New Wall for Guardiola? Donnarumma Agrees Personal Terms with Manchester City
According to multiple reports from France, Gianluigi Donnarumma has reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with Manchester City, as the Italian goalkeeper prepares for an exit from Paris Saint-Germain.
The 25-year-old shot-stopper is expected to leave PSG within the next 12 months. Donnarumma is entering the final year of his contract, has rejected an extension, and has reportedly fallen out of favour in Paris following the club’s €40 million signing of Lucas Chevalier from Lille, with a further €15 million in potential add-ons.
The situation escalated this week when Donnarumma was left out of PSG’s squad for the UEFA Super Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur, despite having played a key role in the club’s historic Champions League triumph just three months ago.
With the Paris chapter coming to a close, sources suggest that both Manchester United and Manchester City have expressed strong interest in securing the Euro 2020 winner. However, it now appears that Pep Guardiola's side have taken the lead in the race.
According to L'Équipe, Manchester City have already agreed in principle with Donnarumma on personal terms. Talks with PSG are ongoing, and City are reportedly exploring a potential swap deal involving current No.1 Ederson, along with a cash component.
