Official: Renato Veiga Leaves Chelsea for La Liga Record Move to Villarreal
Chelsea have officially confirmed the permanent departure of Portuguese defender Renato Veiga, who has joined Villarreal in La Liga in a club-record transfer deal.
The fee, including bonuses, is reported to be €29.5 million — making Veiga the most expensive signing in Villarreal’s history.
“We thank Renato for his efforts during his time at Chelsea and wish him all the best in this next chapter of his career,” read an official statement published on Chelsea FC’s website.
The 20-year-old made 18 appearances for Chelsea last season, scoring twice and adding one assist. In January, he was loaned to Juventus, where he featured in 15 matches across all competitions for the Turin giants.
Renato Veiga has left Chelsea and completed a permanent transfer to La Liga club Villarreal.
