Chelsea FC is looking to make a big move in the final days of the summer transfer window, with an official bid submitted for Fermín López of FC Barcelona.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the London club has made a formal written offer of €40 million for the 22-year-old midfielder.

"Chelsea send official written proposal to Barcelona for Fermín López! Initial proposal worth €40m has been submitted this afternoon right after the game," Romano reported.

Fermín López is a product of Barcelona's famed youth academy and has been a part of the senior squad since 2023. Last season, the talented midfielder made 46 appearances in all competitions, scoring 8 goals and helping Barcelona secure the La Liga title.
