Rangers linked with Ole Gunnar Solskjær after Scholes hint
Speculation is mounting that Ole Gunnar Solskjær could be in line for the Rangers job after former teammate Paul Scholes dropped a cryptic hint during a podcast appearance.
The Scottish giants are currently searching for a new head coach following the dismissal of Russell Martin. While bookmakers initially installed Steven Gerrard as favourite for a sensational return to Glasgow, the former manager has reportedly turned down the approach. That has opened the door for other candidates — and Scholes’s comments have set tongues wagging.
“I met a guy the other day who told me he was going to have a meeting with Rangers,” Scholes said. “I’m not sure whether it happened yet, and his name hasn’t been mentioned in the press. I think he told me in confidence, so I won’t reveal it. But I don’t think he was expecting it — they approached him, and the next day he was in London for talks.”
According to The Daily Mirror, the “guy” Scholes referred to is believed to be Solskjær, who has been out of management since leaving Beşiktaş two month ago.
