The 25 finalists for the prestigious Golden Boy award - given annually to Europe’s best under-21 player - have been officially announced.

PSG star Désiré Doué is considered the frontrunner after scoring twice in the Champions League final, making him the clear betting favourite ahead of rivals such as Pau Cubarsí and Myles Lewis-Skelly.

The Golden Boy award is presented each year to the best player under 21 playing in Europe’s top leagues who has never previously won the honour. Last year’s winner was Lamine Yamal of Barcelona.
