The honor for the world’s best young footballer

Italian newspaper Tuttosport has officially announced the winner of the 2025 Golden Boy award — the honor for the world’s best young footballer. This year’s title goes to Désiré Doué, the talented winger of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

The French prodigy edged out fierce competition from the likes of Arda Güler (Real Madrid), Franco Mastantuono (River Plate), Pau Cubarsí and Lamine Yamal (both Barcelona), as well as Brazilian wonderkid Estevão from Palmeiras.

It’s been a sensational year for Doué and PSG. The 19-year-old played a crucial role in the club’s historic treble, lifting the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, and the Coupe de France. Across 61 appearances in all competitions, he contributed an impressive 16 goals and 16 assists — a record that solidified his reputation as one of Europe’s brightest young stars.

Last year’s Golden Boy was awarded to Lamine Yamal of Barcelona. With this triumph, Désiré Doué joins an elite list of past winners including Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, and Pedri — and his meteoric rise shows no signs of slowing down.
