The stage is set for a clash of South American titans

It was a night to remember in São Paulo as Palmeiras produced a breathtaking comeback to book their place in the Copa Libertadores final. Facing Ecuadorian side LDU Quito in the second leg of the semi-finals, the Brazilian giants overturned a three-goal deficit with a sensational 4–0 victory at Allianz Parque.

After suffering a heavy 0–3 defeat in Quito, few believed Palmeiras could find a way back. But the home side delivered one of the most dramatic turnarounds in recent Libertadores history. Rafael Veiga led the charge with a brilliant brace, while Ramón Sosa and Bruno Fuchs added a goal apiece to seal the remarkable triumph.

The result means the final will be an all-Brazilian affair once again, as Palmeiras will face Flamengo on November 30. The stage is set for a clash of South American titans — a fitting conclusion to this year’s tournament.
