The 41-year-old Brazilian has signed a contract that will run until June 2026

Age is just a number for Thiago Silva. The former Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Chelsea centre-back has officially returned to European football, completing a high-profile move to Portuguese giants FC Porto.

The 41-year-old Brazilian has signed a contract with Porto that will run until June 2026, with an option to extend the deal until June 2027. The move brings one of world football’s most experienced defenders back to the top level, as Porto continue to strengthen their squad at the summit of the Primeira Liga.

According to earlier reports, Thiago Silva remains fully focused on one final major ambition — representing Brazil at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The defender believes that competing regularly in Europe will boost his chances of convincing Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti that he still has a role to play on the biggest stage of all.

This move also carries a sense of history. Silva previously wore the Porto shirt back in 2005, spending six months at the club early in his career.
