Serhiy Rebrov steps down as Ukraine head coach

The Ukraine national team will move in a new direction after the Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) officially confirmed the departure of Serhiy Rebrov as head coach. The decision marks the end of his tenure, which began in June 2023 and included both notable progress and recent setbacks.
UAF president Andriy Shevchenko addressed the decision, stating: “We thank Serhiy Stanislavovych for his work and his contribution to the development of young players. Today, we must move forward and make new decisions that will form the foundation of the national team’s future.”
During his time in charge, Serhiy Rebrov guided Ukraine to qualification for UEFA Euro 2024, reaffirming the team’s competitiveness on the European stage. However, a disappointing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign ultimately influenced the federation’s decision to make a change.
