FC Barcelona have officially confirmed that head coach Hansi Flick has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2028, reinforcing the club’s commitment to its long-term sporting project.
The new agreement also includes an option to extend the deal by an additional season, depending on the team’s sporting achievements in the coming years.
The contract signing ceremony was attended by sporting director Deco, vice-president Rafa Yuste, and club president Joan Laporta, underlining the confidence the Barcelona hierarchy has in the German manager’s vision for the future.
Since arriving at Camp Nou, Hansi Flick has guided Barcelona to five trophies in just two seasons, restoring consistency and competitiveness at both domestic and European level.
However, according to official club sources, silverware was not the only reason behind the extension. One of the biggest factors in the board’s decision was Flick’s commitment to developing young talent and strengthening the club’s identity through La Masia.
Under the German coach, 13 academy graduates have made their first-team debuts, highlighting a renewed emphasis on youth integration that has long defined the philosophy of FC Barcelona.
