Manchester United have officially confirmed their first signing of the summer transfer window.

With new head coach Michael Carrick eager to reshape his midfield ahead of the new campaign, Manchester United have made their opening move by securing the signature of André Santos from Chelsea. The 22-year-old Brazil international joins the club for an initial fee of £48 million, with a further £2 million in performance-related bonuses. The agreement also includes a 10% sell-on clause in favour of Chelsea.

André Santos joined Chelsea from Brazilian side Vasco da Gama in 2023 and has continued to develop into one of the country's most promising young midfielders. During the 2025/26 season, he made 43 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
