Jürgen Klopp has officially been unveiled as the new head coach of the Germany national team, with the German Football Association (DFB) confirming his appointment on Friday. The highly anticipated move sees the former Liverpool manager sign a contract that will keep him in charge through to the end of 2030.

The 58-year-old returns to coaching after leaving Liverpool, where he enjoyed one of the most successful spells in the club's modern history. Following his departure from Anfield, Klopp took up a strategic role within the Red Bull football organisation before accepting the opportunity to lead his national team.

Speaking after his appointment, Klopp made it clear that he views the role as the pinnacle of his coaching career and stressed that he would only remain in charge as long as he retained the trust of the German football community.

"The day you no longer want me here, I'll leave — with no compensation and no severance package. If tomorrow you say I'm not good enough, I'll go. But it shouldn't be just one person's opinion; it has to be the view of the public. If the German Football Association says I'm not good enough, I'll leave. If you, the journalists, don't respect my family and refuse to leave them alone, I'll walk away as well. Criticise me if things aren't working — that's my job, and I'll gladly deal with it. The work is what matters most. I don't see my career continuing beyond the national team. Ideally, this is the pinnacle of my coaching career," Klopp said following his appointment.
