Rafael Leão Set to Join Galatasaray

Rafael Leão has chosen Galatasaray as his next club after Aston Villa failed to meet the financial demands of both the forward and AC Milan. The Turkish giants are set to pay €45 million for the Portugal international, with a further €2 million potentially due in performance-related bonuses.
Multiple reports, including those from Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and Sport Mediaset, have confirmed that Leão has decided to turn down Aston Villa in favour of a move to Galatasaray.
According to the reports, Aston Villa were unwilling to overcome two key obstacles. Firstly, their proposal to AC Milan involved a loan deal with an obligation to buy at the end of the season rather than an immediate permanent transfer. Secondly, Leão would have earned around €7 million per season in England — significantly below the €10 million package reportedly available to him in Istanbul.
With those differences proving decisive, Rafael Leão has accepted Galatasaray's offer and is expected to travel for his medical within the next 24 hours.
