Why is there no update on Mykhailo Mudryk's "B" sample test?
Ukrainian sports lawyer and official, Yevhen Proinin, is raising questions about the delay in the results for the "B" sample test of Mykhailo Mudryk, which could determine the footballer’s future. The case has raised a lot of speculation as fans and experts eagerly await the outcome.
Back in mid-December, reports emerged that Mykhailo Mudryk had tested positive for a substance in his "A" sample. It was revealed that the player had requested the opening of the "B" sample, a standard procedure in doping cases. Typically, the "B" sample is examined and its results are made public within 8 weeks. In the past, there have been a few cases where the process took a little longer, such as Maria Sharapova (her "A" sample in January 2016 and the "B" result was revealed in June), or Tyson Gay, who waited 11 weeks for his results. However, the "B" sample for Mykhailo Mudryk has yet to be revealed, even though the usual deadline has passed.
Yevhen Proinin speculates in his Telegram channel that either the testing is taking longer than usual, or that Mudryk’s legal team already knows the outcome and might be preparing to challenge it at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) without disclosing any information publicly.
It is also worth noting that even if the "B" sample turns out negative, Mykhailo Mudryk may still face a potential ban, adding another layer of uncertainty to his situation.
