UEFA Europa League

The first leg of the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 between Real Sociedad and Manchester United ended in a 1–1 stalemate, leaving the tie finely poised ahead of the return match.

The visitors took the lead thanks to a goal from Joshua Zirkzee—his first in the competition—before Mikel Oyarzabal equalized from the penalty spot following a handball by Bruno Fernandes in the box. Despite both teams pressing for a winner, neither side could find a decisive breakthrough.

The second leg will take place on March 13 at Old Trafford, where both clubs will be eager to secure progression to the next phase of Europe’s second-tier tournament.
