Neymar is close to a comeback

Neymar is expected to make his long-awaited return to the pitch in the upcoming third round fixture of the 2025 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, where Santos face Fluminense.

The Brazilian superstar, whose winter return to Santos stunned the football world, has missed the first two league matches of the season due to ongoing recovery from injury. However, his comeback is now imminent.

With Neymar's current contract running until June 30, he theoretically has up to 10 games left to play in this stint with the club — offering fans a final chance to see him in action in the iconic black and white shirt.

"Neymar is our captain," said head coach Pedro Caixinha. "He was with us before the game against Bahia, spoke to the squad, and will rejoin the team on Tuesday to prepare for the next match."

The 32-year-old’s return is expected to provide not only a significant boost to Santos’ attacking options but also emotional momentum for a team aiming to climb the league table after a mixed start to the season.
