Official: Jobe Bellingham Joins Borussia Dortmund
Sunderland AFC have officially confirmed the departure of rising midfield star Jobe Bellingham, who has signed with Borussia Dortmund in what is reported to be a record-breaking deal for the English club.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 19-year-old midfielder has moved to the Bundesliga giants for a fee of €38 million, including performance-related bonuses. As part of the agreement, recently promoted Sunderland have secured a 15% sell-on clause, potentially boosting the final value of the deal in the future.
The transfer carries added symbolism, as Jobe Bellingham follows in the footsteps of his older brother Jude Bellingham, who made a name for himself at Dortmund before becoming a key figure at Real Madrid.
The England U-19 international made 85 appearances for Sunderland last season, scoring 11 goals as they earned promotion to the Premier League. His versatility to play as both a #8 and #10 made him Dortmund's top midfield target this summer.
