Barcelona have officially confirmed that teenage sensation Lamine Yamal will miss this Sunday’s La Liga fixture against Valencia.

The 17-year-old forward is also a major doubt for the Catalan side’s opening game in the UEFA Champions League group stage, as concerns grow over his fitness.

Yamal returned from international duty with a minor injury and was absent from today's first-team training session. Instead, he underwent a light recovery workout in the gym, as he continues to deal with physical discomfort.

The youngster was forced off in the 73rd minute of Spain’s World Cup 2026 qualifier against Turkey last Sunday, with head coach Luis de la Fuente bringing on Álvaro Morata in his place.
