Inter Milan left it late to secure a hard-fought victory over Venezia, with two own goals in the space of just three minutes finally breaking the deadlock and helping the Nerazzurri climb to the top of the Serie A table. After nearly 80 minutes of frustration, the visitors were handed a decisive helping hand by their opponents, as Moreno and Halhal both turned the ball into their own net in a dramatic late spell.

Despite the eventual defeat, Venezia, managed by Davide Nicola, battled until the final whistle and twice appeared to have found a way back into the contest. However, both goals were correctly ruled out for offside, with Lauberbach and Adams denied by the officials. Their disallowed efforts ensured that Inter's clean sheet remained intact, even as the hosts continued to push for a breakthrough of their own.
