Shevchenko: "We Will Support Mudryk – He Is Crucial for the National Team"
During a press conference today, UAF President Andriy Shevchenko addressed the situation surrounding Mykhailo Mudryk, the winger of Chelsea and the Ukrainian national team.
Mudryk has been sidelined since November after a banned substance, meldonium, was found in his system. His first doping test (Sample "A") came back positive, while the results of Sample "B" are still pending.
"We received inquiries from his lawyers, and we are in communication with them. It’s unfortunate that this happened. Mykhailo Mudryk is very important for our national team. We will support him," Shevchenko assured.
It is worth noting that if the second doping test also turns out positive, Mudryk could face a suspension of up to four years.
