New Details Emerge in Tragic Accident That Claimed Lives of Jota Brothers
Further details have begun to surface regarding the car crash that tragically claimed the lives of Diogo Jota and his younger brother André Jota overnight in Spain.
According to reports from BBC, the fatal incident occurred at approximately 12:30 AM local time on July 3. The two brothers were travelling in a Lamborghini when, during an overtaking manoeuvre, the car suddenly veered off the road—reportedly due to a suspected tyre blowout. The vehicle then burst into flames upon impact, leaving no chance for survival.
Emergency services arrived on the scene as quickly as possible, but both Diogo, aged 28, and André, 26, were pronounced dead at the site. Witnesses confirmed the vehicle was completely engulfed in fire within seconds of leaving the road.
Confirmation from Club and Federation
Liverpool FC, where Diogo Jota had been a key part of the first team, officially confirmed the heartbreaking news earlier today. The Portuguese Football Federation also issued a statement, mourning the loss of André Jota — described as a rising talent in national football circles and a promising player at FC Penafiel.
