Bayern - Union Saint-Gilloise 2:0

Bayern Munich secured their place among the elite of the UEFA Champions League, clinching a top-eight finish and automatic qualification for the round of 16 with a controlled 2–0 home victory over Union Saint-Gilloise.

The Belgian side proved stubborn opposition in the opening period, frustrating the hosts with disciplined defending and even threatening an upset. A dangerous chance on 28 minutes briefly raised eyebrows inside the Allianz Arena, but despite Bayern’s territorial dominance, the first half ended goalless.

The match turned decisively immediately after the restart — and, inevitably, it was Harry Kane who took centre stage. In a devastating three-minute spell, the England captain effectively settled the contest. First, he rose highest to power home a precise header from a corner. Moments later, Kane showed trademark composure from the spot, converting a penalty he had won himself to double the lead.

The striker came close to completing a hat-trick late on, only to see his second penalty strike the frame of the goal, denying him a perfect personal night.

Despite the comfortable scoreline, there was a blemish for the Bundesliga champions. Defender Kim Min-jae was sent off after receiving two yellow cards and will miss Bayern Munich’s final group-stage match against PSV Eindhoven.
