Newcastle Push West Ham Closer to Premier League Relegation

West Ham United moved a step closer to relegation after suffering a damaging 3-1 defeat against Newcastle United in a crucial Premier League clash.
The home side made a blistering start and effectively took control of the match within the opening 20 minutes. Nick Woltemade opened the scoring before William Osula doubled Newcastle’s advantage in the 19th minute, leaving the visitors stunned and chasing the game early on.
In response, West Ham attempted to change the momentum by introducing Taty Castellanos before half-time — a bold tactical move that briefly reignited hope for the struggling London side.
However, any realistic comeback hopes were dealt a major blow in the 65th minute when William Osula struck again to complete his brace and restore Newcastle’s two-goal cushion.
Castellanos did manage to pull one back with a superbly taken goal, but it ultimately proved little more than consolation as West Ham slipped to another painful defeat in a season filled with frustration.
The result leaves the Hammers anxiously watching the outcome of Tottenham Hotspur’s match on Tuesday, which could further shape the relegation battle.
