Georgiy Sudakov

Georgiy Sudakov’s career trajectory could have taken a very different turn, and he might now be playing for a top club if he had scored in the final moments of Ukraine’s group stage match against Belgium at Euro 2024. The player himself is well aware of this.

“I think if I had scored that goal, my career would have changed drastically. That moment cost me a lot... I even ended up in TikToks with the title: ‘What life would have been like if Sudakov had scored that goal.’ It's like a parallel universe. Of course, I see them. I can’t avoid it because it keeps popping up,” Sudakov revealed in an interview on Radio Champion.

It’s worth remembering that before the Euros, Shakhtar Donetsk’s management was confident that Sudakov would be sold to a top European club by the end of the summer. However, nothing came of it—perhaps due to that missed opportunity Sudakov is referring to.
