Supporters’ groups across Germany have issued a joint statement opposing new government plans to tighten security measures at football matches. The proposed regulations include the introduction of personalised tickets and the use of artificial intelligence for surveillance, reports Faszination Fankurve.

In their statement, fans insist that Bundesliga stadiums are already safe — a fact confirmed by official sports authorities. They demand a reduction in police presence at matches to the minimum necessary and strongly oppose forcing clubs to implement costly AI-based monitoring systems. According to supporters, those funds “could be far better spent on improving football infrastructure and supporting clubs directly.”

The declaration also calls for a review of stadium ban policies and the creation of clear legal grounds for the controlled use of pyrotechnics by fan groups. The statement underscores growing tensions between supporters and authorities over fan rights and the increasing digitalisation of stadium security in Germany.
