Newcastle United - Manchester City 1:3

Manchester City showed resilience and attacking quality to secure a comeback victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park, booking their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals after an entertaining fifth-round clash.

The hosts made a blistering start in front of their home crowd. Harvey Barnes opened the scoring for Newcastle United, calmly finishing a one-on-one opportunity after a perfectly weighted through ball from Sandro Tonali. The early goal ignited the stadium and gave the Magpies hope of a statement result.

But Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City responded with composure. Before the interval, Sávio restored parity for the visitors, cleverly redirecting a dangerous cross from Jérémy Doku. The equaliser shifted momentum and set the stage for a thrilling second half.

The decisive figure of the night was Omar Marmoush. The Egyptian forward stepped up after the break, first putting Manchester City ahead with a sharp finish from close range following a precise assist by Matheus Nunes.

Moments later, Marmoush produced the standout moment of the match. Picking up the ball outside the penalty area, he unleashed a stunning long-range strike that flew into the top corner, leaving Aaron Ramsdale with no chance.
