Mykhailo Mudryk Faces Four-Year Ban

Renowned journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed fresh details regarding the future of Mykhailo Mudryk, winger for Chelsea and the Ukraine national team. It has now emerged that the player’s doping case has officially been referred to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), marking a significant escalation in the situation.
According to Ben Jacobs, the Football Association (FA) has imposed a four-year suspension on the Chelsea midfielder for breaching anti-doping regulations — the maximum penalty available under current rules. In response, Mykhailo Mudryk has lodged a formal appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), submitting documentation on February 25, 2026.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has since confirmed that the Ukrainian international is actively contesting the “imposed four-year ban.” The governing body also stated that both parties are currently in the process of exchanging written submissions, with a hearing date yet to be scheduled.
Chelsea have declined to comment publicly on the matter, maintaining silence as the legal proceedings unfold.
If the reports from Ben Jacobs prove accurate — and the suspension is backdated to the initial doping violation — Mykhailo Mudryk may not return to competitive action until late 2028. A devastating potential blow for both Chelsea and the Ukraine national team.
