Paulo Fonseca

AC Milan head coach Paulo Fonseca did not hold back in his post-match assessment of the goalless draw against Juventus in Serie A's Matchday 13. The stalemate at San Siro left fans frustrated, and Fonseca admitted the criticism was justified.

"The boos from the fans? This was the most boring match since I became coach," Fonseca stated candidly. "After a game like that, it's normal to hear boos because I wouldn't want to come to a stadium and watch such a match either. I completely understand the fans."

Overly Cautious Tactics

The Portuguese manager criticized both teams for their overly conservative approach. "I think both sides came into this match strictly adhering to their tactical plans. We showed too much respect to Juventus. It was a game without risks."

He added, "It’s never easy to create chances against this team, but we had opportunities and didn’t capitalize on them. The problem was in the final pass — that’s where we fell short."

Looking Ahead in Serie A

Despite the disappointing result, Fonseca remains optimistic about Milan's chances this season. "Let’s not forget that this team scored four goals against Inter. But today, we didn’t want to take risks. We had very few chances, but I still believe in our Scudetto ambitions. There are many matches ahead."

After the draw, AC Milan sits in seventh place in the Serie A standings with 19 points, trailing league leaders Atalanta and Inter Milan by nine points.
