Metz - PSG 2:3

Paris Saint-Germain were made to work hard on the road but ultimately did enough to secure a narrow victory over FC Metz, a result that lifts the Parisians back to the top of Ligue 1. The win moves PSG two points clear of Lens, restoring their place at the summit — at least temporarily.

With a demanding schedule ahead, including the Intercontinental Cup final in Qatar against Brazil’s Flamengo, head coach Luis Enrique opted for heavy squad rotation. Despite the absence of several star names, PSG started with authority and took the lead when Gonçalo Ramos converted from a set-piece following a well-worked corner.

The visitors doubled their advantage soon after through Ndjantou, but Metz responded before the break, pulling a goal back and keeping the contest firmly alive.

Early in the second half, PSG appeared to regain control. Substitute Désiré Doué made an instant impact, finishing calmly to make it 3–1 and seemingly put the game beyond the hosts.

However, Metz refused to surrender. The closing stages turned tense when Georgian winger Giorgi Tsitaishvili produced a superb curling strike to reduce the deficit to 3–2, setting up a nervy finale for the league leaders.

PSG held their nerve to see out the win, securing three vital points. Remarkably, thanks to Ndjantou’s contribution, Paris Saint-Germain have now had 17 different goalscorers in the league this season — the highest tally among clubs in Europe’s top five leagues.
