Arsenal - Wolverhampton 2:1

Arsenal avoided an embarrassing stumble in the Premier League, edging past struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers thanks to a dramatic stoppage-time own goal from Gerson Mosquera at the Emirates Stadium.

The decisive moment came deep into added time in the second half, when Mosquera, attempting to deal with a dangerous delivery from Bukayo Saka, glanced the ball into his own net. It was a cruel ending for Wolves and a huge sigh of relief for the home crowd in north London.

On paper, this was meant to be routine. Arsenal, league leaders, came into the match with a 31-point advantage over their opponents. Yet the opening stages told a very different story. The Gunners laboured badly and failed to register a single shot on target until the 67th minute.

When the breakthrough finally arrived, it owed more to fortune than finesse. A whipped corner from Bukayo Saka struck the post before ricocheting off Sam Johnstone and into the net, handing Arsenal a fortunate lead.

Just as it seemed that might be enough, Wolverhampton Wanderers stunned the Emirates. Substitute Tolu Arokodare rose to the occasion in the 90th minute, finishing clinically to level the score and threaten a memorable upset.

But football can be brutally unforgiving. With seconds remaining, Saka swung in one final cross, Mosquera misjudged his header, and the ball looped beyond his own goalkeeper. Pandemonium erupted among the home supporters as Arsenal claimed all three points in the most dramatic fashion.
