Lazio - Napoli 0:2

Napoli kept their Serie A title hopes alive with an assured 2–0 away victory over Lazio on Sunday night. First-half goals from Leonardo Spinazzola and Amir Rrahmani proved decisive, allowing the visitors to see out the match with relative comfort and close the gap on leaders AC Milan to just one point.

The outcome was largely settled before the interval. Napoli not only struck twice but also dominated proceedings, enjoying long spells of possession and repeatedly troubling the Lazio defence. The scoreline could have been even more convincing, with Eljif Elmas rattling the crossbar in one of several clear-cut chances.

Lazio attempted to raise the tempo after the break, pushing higher up the pitch in search of a response. However, Napoli remained calm and disciplined, showing the kind of maturity often associated with title contenders.

Any lingering hope for the hosts disappeared in the 81st minute when Noslin was shown a second yellow card, leaving Lazio a man down. Tempers then flared late on, as a mass confrontation resulted in further red cards for Adam Marušić and Pasquale Mazzocchi, bringing a chaotic end to an otherwise controlled performance from the visitors.
