Leaders were forced to dig deep to secure a dramatic 1–1 draw

Leaders Bayern Munich were forced to dig deep to secure a dramatic 1–1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen in Matchday 26 of the Bundesliga. In a tense and chaotic encounter at the BayArena, the visitors finished the game with just nine men but still managed to escape with a valuable point.

The hosts made a flying start. Bayer Leverkusen broke the deadlock as early as the sixth minute when Aleix García unleashed a superb strike to beat the goalkeeper.

Things soon went from bad to worse for Bayern Munich. Just before half-time, defender Jackson was shown a straight red card, leaving the Bundesliga leaders to play the remainder of the match a man down.

In search of a response, head coach Vincent Kompany introduced Harry Kane in the 61st minute. Yet it was not the England captain who turned the tide. Instead, Michael Olise delivered a precise assist that allowed Luis Díaz to level the score, giving Bayern Munich a lifeline.

The closing stages turned into pure drama. In the 84th minute, Luis Díaz received a second yellow card for simulation, reducing Bayern Munich to nine players. Bayer Leverkusen thought they had snatched a late winner when Jonas Hofmann found the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside after a review.
