Belgium Appoints Rudy Garcia as New Head Coach
The Belgian national football team has named 60-year-old French tactician Rudy Garcia as its new head coach. Garcia replaces Italian manager Domenico Tedesco, who was dismissed just a week ago. The announcement was made on January 24th by the Royal Belgian Football Association.
Garcia brings a wealth of experience to the role, having managed some of Europe’s most prominent clubs, including Napoli and Roma in Italy, Lyon, Marseille, and Lille in France, as well as Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. His appointment signals a new chapter for the Belgian national team, which is looking to rebuild after a disappointing campaign in the UEFA Nations League.
This season, the Red Devils finished third in their group, failing to qualify for the Nations League playoffs. Garcia’s first test will be a crucial Nations League playoff match against Ukraine, scheduled for March. This match will serve as an early indicator of the team’s direction under their new coach.
