Bologna missed the chance to climb into the top four of Serie A

Fiorentina and Bologna played out a thrilling 2–2 draw at the iconic Stadio Artemio Franchi, as late drama and VAR decisions stole the spotlight in Florence.

The visitors looked in control after a brilliant first-half strike from Santiago Castro and a composed finish by Nicolò Cambiaghi early in the second half put Bologna two goals ahead. A third from Dallinga was disallowed following a VAR review for offside — a decision that changed the momentum entirely.

Fiorentina were handed a lifeline when Lewis Ferguson handled the ball inside the box, allowing Albert Gudmundsson to convert from the penalty spot. The match took another twist late on as Emil Holm received a red card, reducing Bologna to ten men.

Deep into stoppage time, chaos struck again: Federico Bernardeschi was penalised for another handball, and Moise Kean coolly slotted home the equaliser from the spot to send the home crowd into raptures.

Bologna missed the chance to climb into the top four of Serie A, while Fiorentina moved within four points of the European places.
