McLaren stole the spotlight in the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix Sprint

McLaren stole the spotlight in the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix Sprint, securing a stunning one-two finish with Lando Norris claiming victory ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri in a rain-affected race.

The start was delayed due to wet conditions, and chaos followed immediately as pole-sitter Andrea Kimi Antonelli misjudged Turn 1 on the slippery surface, dropping out of the top three. Piastri capitalized on the mistake and led the race for 15 laps, until the deployment of the safety car shifted the momentum.

During the neutralization, Norris timed his pit stop to perfection, rejoining the track in front and holding on to the lead until the chequered flag. It was a well-executed strategy that handed McLaren their first sprint one-two of the season.

Meanwhile, reigning world champion Max Verstappen found himself under pressure. After running in third for much of the race, he was overtaken by Lewis Hamilton, who was driving for Ferrari this weekend. Verstappen’s troubles deepened after a collision with Antonelli, which earned him a 10-second penalty and saw him fall out of the points.
